What is Control Resonant?
Control Resonant is Remedy Entertainment's action RPG sequel to Control, built on the Northlight engine and set in a paranaturally twisted Manhattan seven years after Jesse Faden walked into the Oldest House. You play Dylan Faden, who trades the original's telekinetic gunplay for melee-led combat with the Aberrant, a shapeshifting weapon that reforms into different armaments mid-fight.
It is Remedy's most expansive game to date — open-ended but not open world: large, distinct zones packed with side quests, hidden encounters and optional discoveries, layered with character stats, a freely respeccable talent tree, artifacts and paranatural abilities earned from Resonant bosses. The story is written to work for newcomers, and a recap of the first game sits in the main menu.

The original Control shipped without it too. Remedy has said nothing either way, and a day-one patch can still change this — the full page shows the evidence and how to re-check the store listing yourself in under a minute.

- You play Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, seven years after the events of Control. The Oldest House has been in lockdown, Jesse has disappeared, and the Hiss have spilled into Manhattan alongside a new form of resonance. The roles from the first game are reversed — Dylan is now the sibling doing the searching.
- How big is the download?
- Roughly 104 GB on PC, 90 GB on PS5 and 82 GB on Xbox Series X|S. The PC requirements call for 120 GB of free SSD space. Pre-load opens 48 hours before launch on September 22, or September 20 for PS5 Digital Deluxe owners, and PC players have to start it manually in Steam or the Epic Games Store.

- Every platform gets the Hiss Corruption Outfit and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact, and PlayStation pre-orders add the Occult Outfit. Buying on the Epic Games Store also grants the Dylan Faden Outfit in Fortnite. There is no redeem-code system — the bonuses unlock at the end of Act 1 rather than at the start.

- No. Remedy describes it as its most open game yet but explicitly not an open world: Manhattan is split into large, distinct zones filled with side activities, hidden encounters and optional discoveries, with near-instant fast travel between them. Zone difficulty escalates as you progress and enemies level with you.
- How does Control Resonant run on consoles?
- PS5 offers Performance at 1440p/60 and Quality at 2160p/30. PS5 Pro adds Performance at 2160p/60, Balanced at 2160p/40 with ray tracing on a 120Hz display, and Quality at 2160p/30 with ray tracing, all using PSSR. Xbox Series X runs a 60fps Performance mode and a 30fps Quality mode; Series S has a single 30fps profile.
- Is there New Game Plus?
- Yes, New Game Plus is available at launch and carries your abilities over. Talents and artifacts can also be respecced freely at any point during a normal playthrough, so no build decision is permanent.
